OPAC 2012: February 3rd and 4th

The following is a message from the OPAC Coordinators:

Hey Razorbacks! Reminiscing about the good times had at the OPAC Games over the last two years? Wishing you had went? Well it's not too late to get involved in this years games! Come on out to the various events happening on campus this Friday and Saturday, cheer on the 14's and 15's, and show everyone the reason why we've brought home the plow for the last 3 years! Also, come out to the graffiti themed OPAC Games Pub on Friday night and socialize with Aggies from the regional colleges and the Molson Extreme Team Girls! Prizes will be given out at the end of the night, so be sure to stay until the end. Look forward to seeing everyone out this weekend!

Yearbook

Hey everyone, I know you hate to think about this, but the fact of the matter is that we are graduating next year. We are hoping to get a head start on organizing our yearbook, to avoid scrabling at the last minute, and to ensure our yearbook is great. If you are interested in helping out with the yearbook, please email Annemarie at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  .

Goodtimes Banquet

The Razorbacks were well represented once again at the annual Goodtimes Banquet on January 20th. Everyone had a great time, and the Razorbacks were presented with the Hockey Tournament Champion title. As well, Ashley Knapton was presented with the OAC '33 and '96 Aggie Spirit Award, a fitting reward for her hard work and dedication to the OAC and the Razorbacks. The Razorbacks were also second place in the Spirit Points competition, so next year we're going to have to bring it on! Great job all around Razorbacks!

Hockey Tournament Champs!

Its been two years in the making, and now the title of OAC Hockey Tournment Champions finally belongs to its rightful owners, the Razorbacks!! Our team played strong throughout the tournament with three wins and a tie, and didn't let us down in the final game, beating out the 2012 Falcons for the trophy! Congrats boys, you did great, and we are proud of you all!

Goodtimes Banquet

Its time again to dig out those fancy dresses and suits for Goodtimes Banquet on January 20th! Tickets are now on sale in the SF office for $40, or $75 for 2 tickets. Make sure you come out and get your tickets early! Also, be sure to check your SF Update if you interested in nominating anyone for any of the awards to be handed out that evening.

Exec wishes all the Razorbacks a happy and safe Christmas and New Years! We hope you enjoy your break from school, and enjoy this time, but remember to be safe! See you all in the new year! A reminder also, that the Annual Aggie Goodtimes Banquet will be held on Friday, January 20th. Make sure you're in attendance!!! Tickets will go on sale in January!

Operation Christmas Child OAC Wide Challenge!

Calling all Aggies! This year the 2013 Razorbacks are challenging the other classes to see which class can come up with the most shoeboxes to send to children in underdeveloped countries. You have from now until November 28th to make as many shoeboxes as you can. They need to be dropped off in the Aggie lounge by 5pm on Monday November 28th so we can get them sent out in time.

Operation Christmas Child is a worldwide event that creates happiness and excitement to children less fortunate than us throughout the christmas holiday!
Their website is: samaritanspurse.ca where you will find directions on how to pack a proper shoebox, or check out the Facebook page for the event for more information!  This is a great way to win your class spirit points, and make Christmas a joyful time for a child across the globe.

Rugby Shirts!

A reminder that this year our class is ordering Rugby shirts! They are comfy, warm and never go out of style (which is great since they last forever!) Please get in touch with Emma Gillespie ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )  this week if you would like to order one, as she would like to place the order by the end of the week. This is to ensure we recieve our shirts before the winter weather sets in, so we can show off our Aggie Spirit even in the most foul winter weather!!! Take that Mother Nature!

FCC Drive Away Hunger Campaign

Hey Razorbacks, please drop off your canned food items in the 13's bag in the Aggie Lounge to contribute to the FCC Drive Away Hunger Campaign. Your last chance to donate is THIS THURSDAY NIGHT! We want to make sure the Razorbacks donate more than the other years so we can win $500, which will go to organizing more fun events for our class! Please contribute to help the hungry in the community!

Success at OPAC!

A busload of University of Guelph first and second year Aggies headed off to Alfred College this past weekend to compete in the annual OPAC games. Lots of fun was had by all and Guelph managed to come out on top of several catergories. Congrats go to:

-Sarah Campbell for winning singles badminton

-Sarah and Geoff O'Neill for "winning" (kinda, not really) doubles badminton

-Kim Hooey, Jessica Nyenhuis and Melanie Luyten for 1st place bowling team

Most importantly, Guelph brought home the coveted Plough Award for having the most spirit for the third year in a row! There is no question now who has the most spirit! We know for a fact that Maxxx and all of the gang represented us well!

Success at Goodtimes!

The 2011 Aggie Goodtimes was, as expected, a good time! The 13s had a great crowd out showing that they had spirit! Congrats go to Emily den Haan for winning the Cheryl Somerville Memorial Leadership Award and to Kyle Craven for winning the top Tractor Rodeo Award. We hope to see all of those who went this year and more at next year's Goodtimes!

Solid Showing at the OAC Hockey Tournament

The annual OAC Hockey Tournament was once again held the first week back at school on the 11th and 12th of January. The Razorbacks came out strong going 3-0 in the preliminary round, placing them second and putting them in the A final. They then however went on to meet a strong Turf team and were defeated 5-1. This is the boys' second 2nd place finish in the tournament. A special shout out goes to the awesome cheering section at all of the games and to the Aggie Ladies who played a solid game for their first time back in the tournament.
